Writer's Block

I've got writers block this week. I've tried all of the prewriting techniques and just can't come up with anything. If I don't start writing my draft I'm going to get behind again.

  1. Don't worry so much. The best thing that I have learned is if you can't think of anything or have writers block just get up and do something else for awhile then come back to it. I have the same problem sometimes and tend to get behind because of it. Then I get super stressed out towards the end of the term. But don't worry i'm sure it will come to you.

  2. Mary the worst thing you can do is to panic so just avoid that if you can. I have a suggestion for you. Do you have a relaxation tape or video or even CD? If you do play that and just sit back and close your eyes and think about easier and nicer places to be. Even doze off if you are able.
    When you awaken or decide you have an idea use it. If you do not get an idea go for a short walk or bike ride or do some stretches. These are the type of things that will unlock your creativity and open your mind.
    I forgot which class it was but we were linked into a relaxation thing we needed to do before a test. They really help. If today does not work get out of class and don't think about it. Believe me it will work. You will be fine. And it never hurts to pray for inspiration and guidance. You can do this girl. I have faith in you. Just get away for a bit it will come.
